Small Groups

Calvin’s Small Group ministry offers something for everyone regardless of where you are in your faith journey. It is designed to stretch people spiritually. Below is the current list of active groups. For information on any of them, please contact the church office. 

 

The Devotional Group
This is a group for those seeking to go deeper in their faith journey. It prayerfully studies and discusses classics of the Christian spiritual life, including the books by Corrie Ten Boom, Catherine Marshall, Richard Foster, Thomas Kelly and many more. It meets Tuesday mornings at 9:30 AM at Calvin Church. 

 

The Men’s Room
This spiritual growth group for men, which meets at 7:00 AM at the River City Grille in the Marriott North in Cranberry Township , explores ways to connect faith practically in work, family, and other areas of life.

 

GIFT (Gathering In Faith Together) Group
GIFT is a women's book group that meets every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. All women are welcome. Contact Kelly Casey at kncasey@gmail.com for more information.

The Centering Prayer Group 

This group is devoted to teaching a deeper form of prayer than most Christians are used to engaging in. It stills the mind and opens the soul. They meet Tuesday mornings at 10:45 am.

 

The Beth Moore Group
Meeting the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month, beginning in September, this group the Beth Moore Bible Studies to learn more about the Bible. Beth Moore is a charismatic biblical teacher whose focus is teaching women how to love and live on God’s Word. 

 

Committees and Session
We treat our session (church board) and committees as small groups. Each meeting begins with 30 minutes of prayer and study. The focus is to make sure that our leaders are also growing spiritually, which enables them to lead others into spiritual growth.

Young Adult Group

Two energetic and dedicated Calvin folks have started a young adult group at Calvin Presbyterian Church. They meet every first Friday of the month from 7:00 p.m. — 9:00 p.m. and the third Sunday of the month in Faith House from 12:30 p.m. — 2:30 p.m., with lunch provided.
